Tempted (Tempted #1) Page 5
“Are you sure about this?”
“I’m positive”
He helped me climb in the back. He grabbed something out of his pocket. The shiny foil caught my eye and I realized it was a condom. I had almost forgot about that.
He pulled my shirt over my head and kissed from my stomach all the way to my lips. I moaned as he sucked on my breast and he smiled. This boy was dangerous. He started to kick off his shoes as I unhooked his belt. I couldn’t wait. I needed to feel him inside of me.
He quickly discarded the rest of my clothes. I hoped he couldn’t tell how nervous I was. I laid back on the black leather seats of his car and he slid my underwear off with ease. I unhooked my bra and let it fall on the floor board. He removed his boxers that hung from his hips. I saw the empty condom package fall to the floor.
“Tell me if I hurt you.” He whispered to me.
I nodded.
He pulled me by the thighs so I was closer to him. His hips rolled on to mine and I felt him about to enter. He pushed gently until he was all the way in and he slowly rocked back and forth. It burned but I didn’t want him to stop. A tear fell from my eye and he wiped it away.
“Baby, do you want me to stop?”
“No, please don’t”
I started to relax and the burning sensation was replaced with pleasure. I dug my nails into his back and he grunted in pleasure. I liked being the one to bring him pleasure. There was something so exhilarating about his body on mine, we just fit.
“You feel so good, baby. You’re so wet for me.”
I started to shake from the pleasure and felt a hot sensation in between my thighs. I think that was my first orgasm. He brushed away the hair that was stuck to my face from the sweat.
“I’m almost there. Nothing has ever felt like this.” He says.
He let out almost a growl and arched his back. He kissed my lips before he pulled out. He took of the condom and threw it out of the window. He helped me get dressed before he dresses his self. We made our way back to the front seat. Roman’s phone rang.
“West, can I call you back?”
I couldn’t hear what West was saying but I knew whatever it was it wasn’t good. I checked my phone, I had ten missed calls and a 911 text from Maddie.
“Okay, I’m taking her to Maddie’s now.”
My heart sank. He ended the call and threw it on the seat.
“Roman, what’s wrong? Is Maddie okay?”
“Maddie is fine, pumpkin.”
“Thank God. I was so worried.”
“But there is something I need to tell you. Preston was at the fair, he took a picture of us together and showed to your dad. He’s at Maddie’s house waiting on you.”
I broke down and started sobbing. He was going to forbid me from seeing Roman. But I didn’t know how I was going to stay away. Why would Preston do something like this to me? I would never be able to forgive him.
Roman hugged me and wiped away my tears.
“They will never be able to keep me from you. I promise you that. But I need to get you to Maddie’s house.”
“Okay.”
We drove to Maddie’s house in complete silence. When we pulled in her drive, I saw my dad waiting on the steps.
“Roman, please tell me this isn’t over.”
“I promise you this isn’t over.”
I kissed his lips and hugged him tight.
“Thank you for tonight. It was the best night of my life.” I whispered to him.
I heard the car door open and I felt someone grab my arm. I looked up and saw my dad’s face.
“Emma, get out of this car. Right now!” He yelled at me.
He looked at Roman with pure hatred.
“You stay away from her. She has a bright future and I can promise you it doesn’t involve trash like you. Go back to your side of town boy and stay there”
My dad pulled me out of the car but not without a fight. I kicked and screamed the whole way to Maddie’s front porch. And I watched my only chance of actual happiness drive away.
Chapter 9
Finally after Four weeks of being put on house arrest, I was allowed to go to Jitter Bug’s to meet Maddie for coffee. You want to know the worst part? My mom had to drive me.
As soon as she pulled the car to a complete stop I jumped out. She rolled the window down.
“Call me when you want me to pick you up.”
I nodded and ran inside. I saw Maddie sitting in the booth all the way in the back. As I got closer I saw someone sitting with her.
“West? What are you doing here?”
“I called Maddie and asked her how I could get in touch with you. She told me I could talk to you here.”
“You’re not mad, right?” Maddie asked.
“Mad? No, not at all. I’m actually happy that you’re here.”
“Well, at least one of you is. Roman is a mess. He’s on a downward spiral.”
Maddie flicked him off.
“Get over yourself.” She said to him.
“I will when you do, Angel.” He fired back at her.
My heart skipped a beat at the mention of his name.
“What’s going on with him? Is he okay?” I asked frantically.
“He’s been acting up. He’s on probation, if he makes one wrong move he’s facing jail time.”
I had to see him and I knew there was only one way. I had to sneak out when my parents went to sleep.
“When is the next race?” I asked just as the barista called Maddie’s name. She walked up to the bar to get the coffee.
“Tonight, but Emma listen to me. I don’t think you need to go there.”
“West, I really appreciate your concern but I have to see him.”
“How are you going to convince your parents to let you out?” Maddie said as she sat our coffee cups down. “I ordered for you.”
“Thanks. I’m going to sneak out when they go to bed.” I told them.
“And how are you going to manage that?” West asked as he sipped on his black coffee.
“With both of your help.”
Coffee sprayed from West’s mouth.
“I don’t think that’s a good idea. Your parents will kill you if they find out.” Maddie said as she rolled her eyes at West, who was wiping his face with a napkin.
“Yeah, what she said. Besides, I don’t think you or Maddie should be there tonight. It’s too dangerous.”
“You shouldn’t be there either, West. Have you forgotten about that? You’re on probation, too.” Maddie told him. She started playing with her necklace again. That meant she was nervous.
Why did she care so much?
“Don’t worry about me.” He told her as he tried to tear his gaze from her face.
“Guys, I have to go tonight. I have to see him. Please. Help me.” I begged them.
“Fine, call Maddie when they go to sleep and she can call me. I’ll come pick you up.” West said.
“Thanks guys! I owe you big time.” I told them.
“You bet you do.” Maddie said as she got up to throw her paper cup away.
We followed her. I waited until they were both gone so I could call my mom. She would freak out if she saw West. She showed up a few minutes later. I got in the car and made small talk. I couldn’t wait for nightfall.
After dinner I helped my mom with the dishes and excused myself.
All I had to do was wait till they feel asleep. Finally after what seemed like an eternity all of the noise from downstairs stopped. I called Maddie and told her to call West. Twenty minutes later she called me, they were in front of my neighbor’s house. I quietly opened my bedroom door and tip toed down the stairs.
I opened the front door and slipped out into the night. We didn’t have an alarm, one of the perks of living in a small town. I knew it was risky but I had to see him. I saw West’s navy blue Camaro. Maddie hopped out and let me in the back. She was mad again, why couldn’t these two get along?
“Is everything okay?
” I asked them.
“Fine, just fine.” Maddie said as she turned to look out the window.
They were silent for the rest of the ride so I didn’t say anything. I couldn’t worry about them right now. I had to get to Roman.
We pulled up to the race and the place was packed. I ran towards the crowd. I heard Maddie and West yelling for me to wait for them but I didn’t listen. That’s when I saw him, leaning against his car. His eyes landed on me and he smiled at me. He started walking my way and I starting walking his. I threw myself in his arms and he spun me around.
“What are you doing here, pumpkin?”
“I had to see you. I couldn’t stay away any longer.”
“I missed you so much.”
Then, he kissed me like his life depended on it. I felt complete again. I wish I wasn’t leaving in a few weeks. I wanted to stay with him.
“Yo, Roman. You’re up.” Ethan yelled over our way.
“Do you want to ride or watch from the sidelines?” Roman asked me.
“I think we’ve spent enough time apart. I’ll ride.”
“That’s my girl.” He laughed and carried me to his car.
I loved this car, it held my best memory.
He opened the door and slid in. He cranked it up.
“Hold on tight.” He said to me right before we sped off.
He was racing Zack Taylor, the biggest jerk in town.
Roman was in the lead but not by much. He revved his engine mocking his opponent. Zack sped by gaining himself the lead. Roman was focused on the finish line, it was in sight. He pressed the gas pedal down as far as it would go and left Zack sitting in a cloud of dust. He flew past the finish line. We got out of the car and were met by a hoard of people congratulating Roman on his big win.
I had never experienced anything like that. Well I could think of one thing that could beat it.
“Did you like that?”
“Are you kidding? I love that. You were amazing!” I said to him.
“I’ll take you anytime you want to go, I think you’re my good luck charm.” He said as he pulled me in for a hug. “Can we go somewhere? There is something I need to tell you.”
“Yeah, is everything okay?” I asked him worried
“Couldn’t be better.” He wrapped his arm around my waist and led me behind the bleachers.
“Emma, I need to talk to you. So let me finish before you say anything, okay?”
I swallowed the huge knot in my throat. Was he breaking up with me?
“I have had girlfriends before but I have never felt like this. This just feels right so I I’m going to say it, I love you, Emma. More than anything in the world and I know your leaving in a few weeks but I want to make this work. I want to be with you.”
I couldn’t speak, I opened my mouth but nothing came out.
“Please say something. I need to know how you feel.”
“I feel the same way. I love you too.” I managed to get that out by the grace of God.
He caressed my face and pulled me close. And we shared a kiss that could have started a fire.
He slid his hand under my dress and touched me in a way only he could. He slipped a finger inside of me and moved it around. I had to give it to him, he was good with his hands. I moaned and leaned my head back.
“I’ve missed every part of you baby.”
He pulled his finger out and fixed my dress.
“You are mine, all of you. Don’t ever forget it, pumpkin.”
“Always, baby.”
We walked back to find Maddie and West. But as soon as we got there I saw the glow of red and blue sirens. People were running to their cars trying to get away. The blaring of the sirens was all I could hear. Roman held me close.
“We’ve got to get out of here.” Roman yelled.
“What about Maddie?”
“West will get her out of here.”
We tried to run to his car but we were stopped by a police officer.
“Roman Charles, put your hands behind your back. You’re under arrest.”
I had just gotten him back and they were going to take him away.
“No please! Let him go!” I said through the hot tears that were streaming down my face.
“Emma Everly, is that you? What are you doing in this part of town? Does your daddy know you’re here?” Sheriff Moore, my dad’s best friend said as he shined his flashlight in my face.
“No sir.” I told him.
“I’m going to have to call your daddy to come pick you up.”
I didn’t care if he called him, I just wanted him to let Roman go. I spotted Maddie screaming and crying. She was trying to pull West away from the officer placing handcuffs on his wrist.
“Please don’t take him! Get your hands off of him!” she cried.
“Maddie, I’ll be fine. Don’t worry about me, angel.”
Why was she acting like me? She couldn’t stand him. But in that moment I couldn’t make myself care.
“Emma, I love you. Please don’t forget that.” Roman said to me as they put him in the back of the police car.
“I love you, too!” I ran up to the police car and beat the window until the car pulled out.
I fell to my knees and sobbed.
Twenty minutes later my dad pulled up and forced me into his truck. He yelled at me the whole way home but I didn’t care. I couldn’t feel anything, I was already numb.
When we got home my parents sent me to my room and told me I couldn’t leave until I went to college. But what they didn’t know was I didn’t care, I had no reason to leave.
I laid in bed fully clothed and cried into my pillow. They couldn’t stop me from wanting him. That was the one thing in my life they no control over. My feelings.
Chapter 10
Two years later.
I walked along the campus of brown university. I was in my second year and already at the top of my class. My parents were thrilled. The crisp air of the early October air blew my hair. I felt two hands wrap around my waist and pull me close. I had to stop myself from pulling away. Preston kissed my cheek.
“Hey, I’ve been looking all over for you.”
“Looks like you found me.”
“Yeah, so, I wanted to ask you where you wanted to go for our anniversary tonight.”
I had been dating Preston for 4 months today. I got tired of fighting my parents so I gave in. If I couldn’t have what I wanted then I would make them happy. He was trying to make a big deal of tonight. I think he thought tonight would be the night that I would finally sleep with him but he couldn’t have been more wrong. I promised myself to someone two years ago. I don’t break promises.
“I don’t care, where ever is good with me.”
“I’ll surprise you then. Call you later.” He said as walked toward his last class of today.
“Great.” I muttered.
I was almost to my red VW Beetle, a going away gift from my parents, when my phone started to ring. I opened my purse and smiled when I saw who it was.
“Hey, Mads.”
“Hey, can you talk for a minute?”
“Yeah, is everything okay?”
“Yeah. Just make sure your sitting down, okay?”
I ran to my car. Unlocking it, I threw my purse inside and got in.
“Okay, I’m sitting down.”
“Roman and West got released last night.”
I couldn’t breathe. He was out but it didn’t matter, he had probably forgot about me anyway. It had been two years. I was with Preston now.
“No offence, but why are you telling me this?” I hope I was convincing her that I didn’t care.
“Because it’s about Roman.”
“I’m with Preston now, Mads.”
“Come on, Emma. We both know you don’t want Preston. Hell, even Preston knows.”
“Maddie, I’ll call you tonight. I have to get ready for dinner with Preston tonight.”
“Well in that case, I’ll let you go. Try no
t to have too much fun.”
“Ha-Ha! Very funny. Bye.”
“Bye.”
I hung up the phone and toss it on the passenger seat. I drove to my dorm, it was on the other side of campus. I parked and started to walk toward my building. I loved this time of year, it was my favorite. I pulled open the door and ran to catch the elevator. The elevators doors closed and I push the button for the fourth floor.
When the doors opened I walked to my room and unlocked the door. I hoped my roommate was gone. Her real name was Wanda but she preferred to go by Luna. She was a Goth. Every time I tried to talk to her she would either growl at me or pretend to put some sort of hex on me. I mean I think she was pretending.
I opened the door and let out a sigh of relief when I realized she was gone. I took a steaming hot shower and started to get ready for dinner. I brushed my teeth and started on my hair. I slicked it back in a ponytail and put on some make up.
I walked over to my closet and pulled out a dark purple bandage dress and nude strap around the ankle heels. Someone knocked on my door just as I was grabbing my diamond stud earrings. I open the door and saw it was Preston.
“You look amazing.” He said as he looked me up and down.
“Thanks.” I said as I put my earrings in and grabbed my clutch.
I looked at his outfit and saw that he was wearing his infamous coral pants. I had to remember to tell Mads about this.
“You ready to go?” Preston asked as he opened the door.
“Yeah, let’s go. I’m starving.”
He placed his hand on the small of my back and led me to the elevator. While we waited on the elevator leaned in for a kiss. I felt nothing. At all.
We walked to his car and he opened my door for me. He climbed in the driver’s side and started the car. We drove into town and Preston pulled in the parking lot of an upscale Italian restaurant. I would have rather had a cheese burger. I hate these stuffy expensive restaurants.
We walked through the door. He led me to the hostess.
“Hello, welcome to Antonio’s. My name is Megan. How may I help you?”
“Hi, we had a reservation for two under Preston Carpenter.”
She pressed a few buttons on the computer in front of her. She grabbed two menus from the stack sitting on the marble top counter.
